OLIVOICE 911 EMERGENCY DIALING

At Olivoice we try our best to offer our subscribers safe and reliable means of communication in emergency situations, and thus we work with several partners to offer access to 911 Emergency Dialing. However, you need to know that Olivoice 911 Dialing service operates differently than traditional 911 dialing on landline phones.  After you sign up with Olivoice, you will have to fill out an online form in order to provide us with your detailed service address (the address of the premises in which you are using the Olivoice service).

Most of our subscribers have access to either the Enhanced 911 (E911) or the Basic 911 service. With E911 service, when you dial 911 from your Olivoice phone, your telephone number and registered address will be automatically sent to the local emergency center assigned to your location. This means 911 emergency operators will be able to identify your telephone number and the necessary information, should help be required.

However, in some parts of our footprint we are unable to provide E911 since some emergency centers are not equipped to receive telephone numbers and addresses, so we offer the Basic 911 service. With the Basic 911 service, the 911 emergency operator will not be able to receive your phone number and address. In this case, you  should be ready to provide your phone number, address and any other relevant information to the 911 emergency operator, or else the operator will not be able to call you back or send help.

Other problems that might obstruct the operator from calling you back or sending help to you can be caused by to an incomplete call, or a dropped or disconnected call.

In a few states and provinces in the USA and Canada, Olivoice does not offer either E911 or Basic 911 services. In this case, you will not be able to access any 911 services and should maintain other means for accessing 911 Emergency Dialing.

To check if Olivoice can provide E911 or Basic 911 services in your location, please refer to our Availability section.

Please note that in order to enable your Olivoice subscription once you receive the Phone adapter, you have to fill the 911 form (which includes the physical location where the service is used) and agree to the terms and conditions in regard to the 911 Emergency Dialing, otherwise you will not be able to use your phone service.

If you move your Olivoice service to another location you must inform Olivoice of your new location address. You should change your 911 information via your Olivoice Online Dashboard. Please refer to our FAQ to learn more. If you fail to do so you might lose access to Emergency Dialing or your calls may be routed to the wrong emergency center.

Olivoice is working on expanding its 911 coverage to cover all areas in its footprint in the USA and Canada within the next few months.

Please remember that Emergency Dialing will NOT function in the event of a broadband (high-speed internet connection) or power outage, or if your high speed internet or Olivoice service is terminated. That is why you should have an alternative means of accessing emergency service.
