What is VoIP?
VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is the technology that Olivoice uses to deliver its services. VoIP enables Olivoice to transmit calls over the internet via the telephone adapter.

Can I use my computer and the Olivoice telephone at the same time?
Yes, you will be able to work on your computer, surf the web, make and receive calls all at the same time. ![]()
Do I need a router to have my computer and the Olivoice phone connected simultaneously?
If you choose to buy the telephone adapter from Olivoice you will not need a router, since the telephone adapter we provide has LAN and WAN ports. ![]()
Can traditional phones I currently have be used with the Olivoice service?
Yes, existing traditional phones can be used with the service. However, you need a telephone adapter. If you want to have multiple phones utilizing the same number you must either use a cordless phone system or consult a licensed electrician to distribute the VoIP signal throughout the wall jacks in your house. ![]()
Is it easy to install the Olivoice phone service?
Yes, it is easy. If you have a cable modem attached to a computer or a router, you can install your Olivoice phone within 10 minutes. If you're installing the Olivoice phone service using a DSL modem or have special requirements, a few added steps might be required. Can I still use my traditional phone service if I get the Olivoice phone service?
Yes, your regular phone service is not affected by Olivoice. Olivoice operates through a broadband internet connection, so it does not interfere with your regular phone service. So you can still keep your regular phone service in addition to Olivoice.
However, if you choose to cancel your traditional phone service please make sure you have Cable internet, since DSL internet requires active traditional phone service.![]()
How can I add my Olivoice phone number on a Do Not Call list?
You can place your Olivoice phone number on the National Do Not Call Registry in the USA by visiting http://www.donotcall.gov
The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice whether to receive telemarketing calls at home or not. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days. If they do, you can file a complaint at the National Do Not Call Registry Website. Registration is free and is effective for five years. ![]()
